Osage Orange Finish Sample
Our Osage Orange is sourced from the Southern states of Virginia, Kentucky and around the southern Mississippi river. Named after the Osage people who used the shockingly vibrant wood for making archery bows. Osage lends particularly well to holding curves and is a fairly strong material, ideal for bow-making and pieces such as chairs that get a lot of weight and use regularly. The color is vibrantly yellow when new, darkening to a rich, honey color with time. The grain is fine in texture, but often with character such as knots and curls.
